Associate Director, Drug Delivery Innovation Regeneron

Eric Holowka joined Regeneron in 2022 as the Associate Director of Drug Delivery Innovation. Since 2001, he has led research, development, intellectual property, and commercial efforts involving the application of emerging drug delivery technologies encompassing regenerative medicine, medical device, biotechnology, and biopharmaceuticals, which helped a build core patent estates and technology platforms within several Fortune 500 companies and startups.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry and chemical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, at the Center for Macromolecular Engineering. Held appointments as a visiting research fellow in immunology and biomedical engineering at Cornell University and University of California Los Angeles and as Visiting Assistant Professor in Materials Science & Engineering at Drexel University & Chemistry at Haverford College. He earned his PhD in Materials Science & Engineering at the University of California Santa Barbara as a California NanoSystems Institute Fellow for his work on the design of self-assembled polypeptide copolymers for use in targeted drug delivery and tissue engineering. In 2014, he published a textbook, “Drug Delivery: Materials Design & Clinical Perspective,” which discusses core technologies behind the design and implementations of drug delivery systems from the materials science & clinical perspective.

Roundtable Discussion: Balancing Cost & Complexity for Improving Feasibility of Large-Scale Targeted LNP Manufacturing
2:30 pm
  • What are the cost drivers of adding targeting steps in largescale LNP manufacturing?
  • How can process development teams reduce costs while maintaining performance and product integrity?
  • What criteria should be used early in development to determine if a targeting strategy is commercially viable on a scale?
